A settlement has been reached
If you paid a retainer or contribution to Merchant Law Group LLP for a planned class action about your participation in the Global Learning Gifting Initiative (the Piett v. Global Learning Group Inc. action), you may be able to get money back.
Merchant Law has agreed to pay $1,450,000 to settle this class action. The settlement must still be approved by the Court. Merchant Law denies the allegations and has not admitted any wrongdoing.
What do you want to do?
Who this is for
The Class includes everyone who made a retainer payment or other contribution to Merchant Law Group LLP for an intended class action about the Global Learning Gifting Initiative, or for Piett v. Global Learning Group Inc., that was not refunded. Check whether you are included.
How much could I get?
If all Class Members make a claim, after deducting legal fees payable to Class Counsel (plus other approved expenses), Class Counsel estimate that Class Members may get 50% back. For example, if you paid $500 in retainer fees, you would get $250 back. This is only an estimate. The actual amount depends on how many Class Members make a claim. More about payments.
You do not have to pay anything to make a claim. Compensation will only be paid if the Court approves the settlement.
